More Disturbing Facts to Creep You Out

If there’s another topic I love to discuss aside from the paranormal and ghosts, it’s creepy facts and stories! I posted another article similar to this one back in 2020, which can be found here if you’d like to check it out before diving into the creepiness below!

Now turn off the lights and get cozy cause its about to get really creepy up in here.

  • As you lay in your deathbed sometime in the distant future, your hearing will be the last of your senses to go…
  • It is believed by many scientists that it takes just four days (maybe even less) for a deeply submerged corpse to become a skeleton. That may explain why its hard for police and medical examiners to determine cause of death after rescuing bodies from the deep, wet, darkness.
  • Speaking of bodies and death, according to many criminologists, if you’re murdered in the United States, there’s a frightening one in three chance that your murderer will never be brought to justice.
  • You’ve heard of vampire bats and while they don’t drink human blood, vampires moths very much do.
  • Do you have a pet dog? If so, the next time you buy them a squeaky toy, think about this: the reason dogs like them so much is cause they tend to mimic the sound of screaming prey. That’s the theory anyway.
  • Have you ever wondered what the ratio is between those that are dead and those of us living? You no longer need to wonder, as of 1968, its 29 to 1.
  • I absolutely love slasher films, Halloween being my favorite. But another iconic slasher film is A Nightmare on Elm Street, which is actually based on a true story, according to the films creator, Wes Craven. He read a story in the LA Times about a boy who died in his sleep after days of no sleep. He refused to sleep for so long due to the awful and disturbing nightmares he had.
  • While this next fact may be normal, that doesn’t make it any less creepy for me. Apparently, its very common for children to hear voices, an estimated 8% of kids do. Its most common in those that have dyslexia or asthma.

Now for some ghostly facts…

  • According to ghost stories and paranormal experiences, England is the most haunted country in the entire world. The Hampton Court Palace and The Tower of London being some of the most notable locations that help push this belief. I’m heading there in late March, so we’ll see what I find!
  • The most active time for spirits and ghosts is said to be between three and four am, otherwise known as the witching hour.
  • For thousands of years, people have believed in ghosts. Today about 40% of people (in the UK) believe in ghosts and in the US, about 36% of people believe in the paranormal.

Thank you for tuning in to this weeks post, it was fun (and a bit unsettling) to write and I’ll be back in a couple of weeks for a new post!
