SOLD – The Warren Occult Museum Purchased

Ed and Lorraine Warren, known for their vast role in the paranormal world, have been viewed as legends and professional ghost hunters, while others view them as scam artists that pray on the fear of those they swore to help. But opinions aside, real stories of terrified families resulted in terrifying items from their homes being taken and brought into what would become the most haunted museum the world: the Warren Occult Museum in Connecticut. Even if you haven’t been or haven’t done any research, you likely still know of Annabelle, perhaps the most infamous among the macabre items.

Three days ago, I learned that the Warren Occult Museum had been purchased. Now, my first thought was Zak Bagans, lead investigator of the Ghost Adventures Crew. If you’ve heard of him (again, putting opinions aside) then you likely know he’s quite the collector himself of haunted items. With all that he’s bought in the past, (a dybbuk box, Dr. Kevorkian’s ‘Death Van’, Bela Lagosi’s mirror, the Demon House in Gary, Indiana, to name just a few of the many creepy and unsettling things he’s bought over the years) hopefully, you can see why I thought of him immediately.

But I’m not going to lie. I was pretty suprised to find out comedian Matt Rife along with his good friend and youtuber Elton Castee purchased the museum. I can’t really explain the shock but mostly, I had zero knowledge of Matt or Elton’s interest in the paranormal. At a whopping price of 1 million dollars, the duo have become the legal caretakers (not owners) of the items within the home and museum. In more detail HERE, Matt talks briefly about his own love for the paranormal world and dives a bit into their plans for the Warren Occult Musuem.

Despite the flood of support, not everyone is happy about it. I’m honestly not sure how I feel about it either, but I think this may have saved the home from falling into the hands of the wrong person, at least. After the research I’ve done, the point of views I’ve seen, I don’t feel that there’s bad intent here. But there’s only one way to find out, right? We wait.
If it does come to fruition and someday, we’re able to stay or rent the museum for a night, I can only hope EVERYONE involved can treat the home and items with respect. Especially, because the items housed in the Warren Occult Museum are NOT just harmless items to mess around with. But hopefully, this means that this important piece of paranormal history can stay put for a long time, educating and fascinating us for years to come.
